A directory of blogs

Blogs are an inportant element of your personal brand, providing you
with online presence and a forum for demonstrating publicly your
expertise. But they’re not much use if no-one can find them.

Time was when searching for relevant blogs was easy – there weren’t that many. These days, though, its a bit of a jungle out there. You can resort to Google, of course, and sift through the many
entries – blog and non-blog alike, but there are some useful
blog-specific directorties out there.

If you are anything more than a casual reader of blogs, you’ll already have come across Technorati, and now I’ve rediscovered the EatonWeb Blog Directory, which was the original blog directory. EatonWeb was taken down for some time but has been relaunched, so if you want to look for blogs that are relevant to your market or field of expertise, give it a whirl, and make sure you get your blog listed!

Technorati’s results aren’t what they used to be. There are too many “bot” blogs that get funneled through the site now, so it is harder to find what you are looking for. Try searching for “Personal Branding” and you will see what I am talking about, with all the jewelry retailers.

Hi Dan. Yes I noticed that this morning. 3 pages of fake watches before I got to a ‘real’ post. Technorati will have to do something about it or it will start to erode the site’s value to users and it’s brand.

Looks like Technorati sorted the problem out. Not bad – only three or four days to restore ‘service as usual’ 🙂
