Even so, I kept kidding myself that referrals were a major part of my business-building strategy.

 

Well, over the last 10 years or so, more than half of my new clients have come from referrals.

 

That means I spend a lot less money and time on marketing and lead generation than my competitors, and I spend a lot less time in sales meetings with cold prospects that end up going nowhere.

 

Here’s the thing.

 

If you say your business is built on referrals – that’s *built* on referrals, not oh, sometimes people are nice enough to refer me” – then you’re really saying this is a critical part of how you run your business.

 

But when something really is critical to your business, shouldn't you have a system and a process in place to make sure it happens?

 

When you invoice a client, you’ve probably got a system in place to make sure that bill gets paid. And if you haven’t, you’re not going to stay in business for long.

 

And when someone bills you, you’ve got a system in place to make sure that you remember to pay it before the red letters start to pour in.

 

You’ve probably got a process for onboarding new clients, so you get the information you need from them to work with them, and they have all the information they need from you to make sure they’re ready and they get the most value out of working with you.

 

But, if you’re like 90% of professionals, what you DON’T have is an automated system for getting your clients to refer you.

During This Free 5-Day Challenge You Are Going to Build That Automatic Referral Machine:

    On Day 1 of the Challenge, you’ll identify the people you already know who will make the best referrers. They could be clients, suppliers, just people you know from life outside business. They might even be competitors.

    On Day 2, you’ll design the most powerful part of your Referral Machine. Most people suck at getting referrals because they’re basically saying, “Will you be my unpaid sales rep?”

    So, on Day 2, we’re going to turn the referral conversation on its head so that people actually want to help you and refer you.

    On Day 3, you’ll pick the best type of referral program for you. I’ll walk you through Referral Machines that work in the real world – from strategies that don’t require any technology more complicated than a phone and a postage stamp, to multistep referral campaigns that stretch over weeks or just run all the time in the background.

    On Day 4, you’ll train your referrers to make the referral and take away the biggest fears that stop people from sending you clients. And if you’ve been implementing each day, then it’s possible you could have your first referral (or referrals) by the end of the day.

    Finally, on Day 5, I'll show you how to track how well your Referral Machine is working, so that you can keep adjusting it, expanding it, and growing your business.
